As the author of Log Cabin Fever, Frayed-Edge Fun, Strips and Strings, and now 40 Fabulous Quilts, Evelyn Sloppy is known as a prolific quiltmaker.  An accountant, she took up quilting as a hobby in 1991 and found that she had a passion for it.  After she retired, she was able to devote a lot of time to her new passion.  She's taught at several area quilt shops since 1998. Her books showcase her expertise as a designer inspired by traditional patterns. Evelyn lives with her husband, Dean, on eighty wooded acres in western Washington, where she savors the peaceful country life and visits from their four children and five grandchildren.  The photos below show Evelyn on a recent whitewater rafting trip with her family (Evelyn is on the left, in the middle), and relaxing with Dean.
